In this talk, Professor McKenna will explore how the allocation of decision-making authority between judges and juries has become increasingly important in trademark litigation, and whether, and how, the allocation of decision-making will shift the outcomes in trademark litigation.
Professor Mark McKenna teaches at UCLA School of Law and writes in the areas of intellectual property and privacy law. He is widely recognized as a leading expert in trademark law. He is the Faculty Co-Director of the UCLA Institute for Technology, Law & Policy, a partnership between UCLA’s School of Law and Samueli School of Engineering that examines the benefits and risks presented by technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, cybersecurity, and digital media and communications. From 2023 to 2026, Professor McKenna also served as Vice Dean of Faculty & Intellectual Life.
